品纳格高效率汽车发动机技术应用案例研究分析

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

  • Despite China’s national plans for promoting new energy vehicles (NEV) and related physical and regulatory schemes, 70% private vehicles are projected to be ICE in 2030.
  • In order to curb ICE vehicles increasing oil consumption and CO2 emissions, new engine technologies adoption is vital, as well as related technology capacity building in the domestic car market.
  • Specifically, two market segments have a huge influence potential: (i) the growing <1.3L market of both cars and LCVs which represent 39% of domestic production and have the advantage of over 50% annual sales growth; (ii) the strong >1.3-2.0L domestic and JV car market currently representing 53% of total vehicles production in China. These segments of focus jointly represent 92% of domestic production and 85% of sales growth.
  • Pinnacle Engines (PE) is expected to bring fuel consumption (FC) reduction by as much as 35% (up to 50% improvement in fuel economy of vehicles). This study uses conservative FC reduction potential figures based on tests and on laboratory-proven and validated results of PE 250cc and 110cc single cylinder engines and simulations of larger multi-cylinders engines in automotive applications which ran or were validated by a professional third party (FEV).
  • The analyses of this study concludes that PE technology, if implemented across >1.3L cars and LCVs as well as in 1.3-2.0L cars, could reduce China’s private vehicles fleet cumulative fuel consumption by as much as 24.3 billion liters and mitigate a cumulative amount of 35.3 million tones of CO2 between 2015-2020.
  • On the corporate level, this study shows that significant FC improvements can be reached.
